November 15th - Christmas card special - Beginners
Class Teacher - Susie Jefferson
Fancy making your own Christmas cards this year? This is the class for you! Whether a total beginner, or someone totally confused about all the new products out there, learn everything you need to know about:
You will also take home a comprehensive hand-out on inks: how to choose the right ink for the job (there are so many to choose from, so which does what?) plus care, cleaning & storage for unmounted and wood-mounted stamps.
November 22nd - How to use the Bind it all and Ultimate Pro Scoreboard
Class Teacher - Susie Jefferson
Many of you will have seen the brilliant new Bind-it-All machine, which is THE Must-Have accessory of the year! This class will help you to use it to its best advantage, and give you ideas for projects you might never have dreamed were possible.
In this class we are going to make a complete project:
A full-size fully bound 12-page calendar with hanger.
Whether you want to use heavyweight watercolour papers, card, CDs or bookboard , this machine will punch the holes in it. It also automatically guages the exact margin allowance needed for covers - hooray! You choose what size of book (or whatever you want to make) and the machine does the rest for you. You choose the size and the colour of the binding coils you want to use: black, white, pink, red etc - the machine automatically closes these for you to the exact size requirement.
And that's not all: if you love Altered Art projects, or would like to recycle supplies you already have, you can make binders to hold CDs - or actually make fun circular albums by punching holes in the CDs themselves! These make quickly finished mini albums to give as a present. Why not recyle children's board books too? Easily available in fun shapes, for added pizazz, these are perfect Brag Books.
This class is stress-free, fun, suitable for complete beginners and advanced crafters, and you'll go home with a completed project and a full set of comprehensive notes,to enable you to carry on at home.
Early booking is advised as this class is strictly limited to 7, to ensure everyone has plenty of individual attention.
November 29th - Christmas card special - tunnel cards
Class Teacher - Susie Jefferson
MAGICAL, MYSTICAL TUNNEL CARDS
Take your card-making skills to the max and create miniature worlds of wonder and enchantment with these Tunnel cards. You will create two, in totally different styles using mixed media skills: watercolour, rubber stamps, collage.
Variation 1
This adorable card has depth, mystery - and folds up small enough to tuck in a pocket. Using heavy watercolour paper, this card is constructed from a single sheet of heavy watercolour paper and opens out into a sturdy stand-alone book with 3 different torn apertures. Using a unique watercolour technique for soft and diffused images, this card will adapt to any artist's style, whether collage-y or cute. We will be incorporating charms, eyelets, glitter and a ribbon tie.
Variation 2
Based on a concertina fold and originally made popular by Victorian artists, this concertina book is like gazing into a miniature theatre. Create the scenery, create the characters, add a little magic with stamps, embossing, watercolours and glitter and let the magic happen.
You'll love these cards so much you'll want to make more straight away, to keep for yourself.
December 6th - Quick Christmas Cards with Printed Background Papers and Stamps
Class Teacher - Freyja
Most of us will confess that we often buy printed background papers because they are beautiful rather than we have plans to use them! Not quite 'last minute' but now is the time for some quick and easy cards. However 'quick' should not exclude 'stylish' and Crafty Individuals colourful Christmas papers all co-ordinate and can be used together to make striking backgrounds. Add a stamped panel, little pockets, tags, plain layers plus shiny accents for cards that burst with colour and style. Discover a good design and make 5 or 6 cards together which saves time when busy. We will also look at some ideas using elegant Basic Grey papers. Bring along a favourite stamp if you would like to use it in this class.
